CREC crew helping restore power in Oklahoma

STILLWATER, OKLA. – The effects of the recent ice storm are still being felt by residents across our state. Although Central Rural Electric Cooperative did not have much system damage as a result of the declared emergency disaster, many cooperatives across the state were not as fortunate, and crews from CREC have been sent to help others.

Monday, CREC sent a five-man construction crew to Harmon Electric Cooperative in Hollis, Okla., to help restore power. HEC’s system was devastated by the recent storm, causing damage to their entire system including more than three thousand broken poles.

“We were very fortunate to have sustained minimal damage from the recent ice storm,” said David Swank, chief executive officer of CREC, “and are glad to be able to help our fellow cooperatives in their time of need.”
