The Central Electric Cooperative Operation Round Up board recently approved a $1,000 grant to Stillwater Life Services to help update the Earn While You Learn and the 24/7 Dad programs.
The SLS Earn While You Learn and 24/7 Dad programs are one-on-one parenting mentorships for young pregnant women and young first-time dads designed to teach the necessary skills needed to prepare for the child’s arrival and the beginning of the parenting process. Mentors use a combination of curriculum, videos and their own parenting experiences. The Operation Round Up grant will allow Stillwater Life Services to update the curriculum and videos, enhancing the program’s ability to teach relevant information.
SLS is a professional and confidential clinic and resource center providing a variety of services, such as pregnancy testing and counseling, limited ultrasounds, STD testing and treatment, mentoring programs and more. For more information, visit stillwaterlife.org.
Central Electric Cooperative’s Operation Round Up® (previously the Community Foundation of Central Electric Cooperative) is a charitable organization that distributes funds to individuals and organizations throughout the communities within Central’s service area. Independent of Central Electric Cooperative, the Operation Round Up board administers the program, making grants available from money donated by Central members who choose to round up their electric bill to the nearest dollar. Visit www.MyCentral.coop and click on the “Community” tab located at the top of the page for more information about Operation Round Up®.
